2008 Tournament Results

The 2008 North Star Sturgeon Classic held annually at Sportsman's Lodge on the Rainy River is now history.  Over the course of the two day tournament 17 fish over 42.5 inches were caught, recorded and released.  Many smaller non-qualifiers tried to join the ranks, but were quickly returned to the River for another day.

 

2008 Winners

Friday, May 2 - Terry Rutherford, Calumet, MN  -  59 inches                             Saturday, May 3 -  Zach Stenson, East Grand Forks, MN - 61 inches

Sixty one participants were entered into the two day event.  Prize money amounting to $1050 for each day was awarded to the longest fish.  Other door prizes were given away by sponsors - Log Cabin Bait and Outdoors Again both of Baudette, MN

The 3rd Annual Event will be held on May 1 & 2, 2009.  Online registration forms will be available soon, along with more specifics as we know them.  Following is a preliminary list of events:
